Background story

Italian Alps

A clear winter day over the Italian Alps, the main mountain range that covers a large part of Europe.
On a short flight from Luxembourg to Milano, we started our descent somewhere over Switzerland and cross the Alps in a shallow glide towards our destination.

The bright sunlight bounces off the snow and ice, illuminating the shadow areas with sunlight as well. A rare spectacle of light, granite and snow where no human is present. Or is there?
As we look closer, one can even see trails from skies or climbers in the virgin snow on this photo. Maybe mountain climbers, adventurers or an expedition. Who knows.
I can only imagine the cold down there, contemplating from my comfortable cockpit.

A fascinating sight from above and a reminder of how the invention of the airplane has changed the way we travel and see the world.
